FORCE LACROSSE PLACES FIRST AT INDIAN PRAIRIE |
|
|
It
used to be said that girls from the lacrosse beltway
could only play lacrosse. Midwestern Force has proved
that is not an accurate statement over this past
summer. Having their best season ever, the ladies
of Midwestern Force have shown just what a girl
from the Midwest is capable of. The class of 2010
currently has many of its group already committed
to play at D1 level schools such as Virginia Tech,
Princeton, US Naval Academy, Robert Morris University,
High Point University, Ohio State University, Brown
and the University of Cincinnati. Many of the remaining
seniors are also very close on making their final
decisions. Our class of 2010 dominated over their
opponents during summer tournament play and our
class of 2011 followed suit. In Vail our U19 group
took 4th overall in the Gold top seed bracket. Sara
Kuhlman earned a spot on the All Tournament
Team for Vail. Our college players/coaches (Culp,
Ducci, Ashley, and Paige Cowie (Alumni
08)) were able to remain undefeated at the Women's
Elite at Vail before losing to Gang Green in sudden
death overtime by one goal for the entire tournament.
They were able to secure a second place for this
prestigious event!
Club Championships were pretty much the same with
both Explosion (2010) and Combustion (2011) winning
the majority of their games. Explosion was able
to advance to semi finals against Stick Benders
before losing by one goal.
Midwestern Force ended its summer with two teams
heading to Naperville to play in the Indian Prairie
Tournament. We were excited to have our first group
of 2013s (bridge players) compete and they were
successful in winning half of their games. As the
weekend progressed the team really started to pull
together and gather speed. Our HS select group was
successful in winning the first place slot for their
division by remaining undefeated thru all seven
of its game. Sydney Thomas earned a spot
on the All Tournament Team. The girls were strong
through-out the weekend. The teams were coached
by Rachel, Lindsay and Ashley. Great job
to all those players who participated. |
